A private way to be reached. You get a short code and a QR code. Anyone who scans it can message or call you, and WhozTag relays everything, so neither side sees the other's phone number, email or address.

No. They point their phone camera at the QR code and everything happens in the browser: messages, voice calls and video calls.

No. The WhozTag web app works in any modern browser. For the doorbell we recommend adding it to your home screen so incoming calls can notify you even when it's closed.

Messages wait in your inbox and are also delivered by email or Telegram. A missed doorbell call lets the visitor leave a message instead.

No. Messages are relayed by our server and emails are sent from our address. Calls go through a relay server, so not even your IP address is shared. They only learn what you choose to write or say.

We don't store visitors' IP addresses. A visitor can optionally leave an email to be told about your reply. We keep it encrypted, use it only for that, and never show it to you.

Never. Audio and video flow live between the two browsers through an encrypted relay. We only keep basic call details, such as time, duration and whether it was answered, so you can see your call history.

Messages are deleted 90 days after a conversation's last activity, or 30 days after the touchpoint is removed, whichever comes first.

Tap Mark as sold. The code stops accepting messages and calls immediately, and people who scan it see that the listing is no longer available. If the sale falls through, you can turn it back on while your time is still running.

We remind you 3 days and 1 day before it ends. After it ends, you have 30 days to buy an extension and keep the very same QR code, so the signs you already printed keep working.

No. Extending early adds the new days on top of the time you still have.

If the app is open, it rings right away. If not, you get a push notification on devices where you've installed it, and a Telegram message with an Answer link. Whichever you open first connects the call.

Only if you choose to. By default the visitor's camera is on and yours is off, so you can see who's at the door. You can turn your camera on during the call.

After 45 seconds, or if you decline, the visitor is offered the option to leave you a message.

Yes. Every account gets one free 3-day trial for a listing or a doorbell.

Payments are processed by our payment partner Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and handles sales tax and VAT. We never see your card details.

Anytime, from the Billing page. Your doorbell keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for.
